Leadership Through Impact: How Purpose Creates Real Change

In 2025, the Strong Like Sloane Foundation raised over $220,000 for pediatric cancer research and family support. Over the last two years, that impact has grown to $387,000 — made possible by companies, leaders, and individuals who believe that giving back isn’t just nice, it’s part of doing business well.

This didn’t happen because of one organization or one gift. It happened because leaders chose to act, teams chose to rally, and companies chose to invest in something bigger than themselves. Every contribution, whether $2, $20, $200, or $20,000 (our largest individual donation this year), played a role in creating real, measurable impact.

Where the Dollars Went

$213,751 funded pharmacogenomics research at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. This research helps clinicians deliver more precise cancer treatment for children, reducing trial-and-error, limiting severe side effects, and tailoring care to each child’s genetics.

$7,000 supported Helping Families Handle Cancer, providing financial assistance to 28 families facing medical costs not covered by AHS or private benefits. This support allows families to focus on what matters most: their child.

Leadership Beyond the Boardroom

This work is a reminder that leadership extends far beyond meetings, balance sheets, or quarterly reports. Leadership shows up when organizations align purpose with action, creating a ripple effect that touches families, healthcare, and the future.

It happens when people and companies recognize that their decisions — big or small — can directly change lives. And it happens when leaders inspire their teams to step up, not because it’s required, but because they know they can make a difference.

Every donation, every hour volunteered, every effort to rally support is a lesson in leadership in its purest form: influence with intention.

The Power of Community and Teamwork

The impact of the Strong Like Sloane Foundation isn’t measured just in dollars. It’s measured in the families supported, the research advanced, and the community built.

This kind of leadership — the kind that creates tangible change — relies on connection, collaboration, and consistency. It shows us that when people and organizations work together toward a shared purpose, extraordinary things happen.

We are deeply grateful to every company, leader, and community member who stood with us, with Sloane, and with the pediatric cancer community. Your choice to act, to invest, and to give has changed lives.

As we look ahead to 2026, we carry the same commitment: to lead through impact, to inspire action, and to continue pushing toward a world where pediatric cancer is curable.

Strong doesn’t mean doing it alone.
